I dont see the purpose on nerfing SF, i say change glyph of swiftness so it only work on elementalist skills period...this will kill the A/E farming ^^.
Perma sins r still very usefull in speed clears where they dont need to glyph SF or echo it.

Thats my thoughts on this subject.

its an understandable mistake, pandora has confused this thread with the "madness that is Ether Renewal..." one (essentially the same but with E.R instead, see the thread templates guideline for a step by step how to do.)

My confidence in the ecto is very high, but I expect a fairly serious value dent, probably not more than -600g per ecto. In ToA, several people were doing 23 ectos per 100,000g, so we're at -350g per ecto, but I don't expect any more serious damage. Prices are likely to stabilize at roughly 4,000g per ecto.

My confidence is enough that I'm giving away runes of major shadow arts.

I have not once teased the idea of converting my ectos to lockpicks, black / white dyes and z-keys. If you're very concerned about your ectos, you should promptly do this.

I do not believe that ectos are likely to devalue any more than roughly 4,000g, anymore than I believe that armbraces are likely to spike sharply in value because of the Hall of Monuments update, or that passage scrolls are likely to spike sharply in value when we lose favor.

if you think the thing that has happened to ectos happend to ele swords as raptors came they were over farmed and the sword became common when they bring gw2 out hopefully they will make a untimate armour that materials cannot be vastly farmed like ectos

oh quit complaining people. Shadow Form was buffed because there is a pvp version that is weaker. All the nerfs are mostly related to PvP. And Shadow Form does NOT need a nerf. In fact, the buff barely have an impact on the ecto/shard market other than easier to farm, the drop rates are still the same (i get around 8-10 ectos a day, don't know how u guys got 50 ectos :P). If you nerf SF, you also nerf elite tome farming (particularly if you want new characters to get an elite skill for better advantage), green farming for equipment for you heroes, and the economy would be a downer. The reason why ectos are cheaper now is because of the laws of supply and demand. As long as demand is high, the prices will be high.

And ANet, DON'T make any moves to nerf Shadow Form (like you nerfed Spirit Bond), or you WILL get angry protests. And besides, Shadow Form isn't always 100% invinicible (heck some foes that uses signets, traps, touches, and non-targeting AoE spells can kill a SF farmer, and the build is well balanced).

Besides, I want to get one of those everlasting automatonics and the everlasting beetle juice tonics (which I believe is around 100-150 ectos).

I think you're missing the point. People could care less if you're running around with your heroes as a perma shadow form in PvE. They DO care however if you're farming 15 ecto an hour in the UW, where the only way for you to die is if you run over a trap. >< (stupid behemoths)

you don't always get 10+ ectos all the time in one run, the drop rates are relatively low.

maybe instead of nerfing shadowform itself, anet should make it so u cant run over traps then. make them activate faster

considering this thread has gone in roughly 300 directions. ill just add this........ if people think the drop rate is low on the plains then i say HA good sir lmao. seriously do a plains run count the ecto and then do a feather run on the island (seitung) count the feathered crests. i did this as a simple excercise. roughly the same number of birds Vs total number of pops of mind blades. this experiment yielded this info. 14 crests Vs 8 ecto. i might be way off but im thinkin ecto should be much more rare then feathered crests on noob island. as i said i could be completely wrong but i found this interesting considering UW is an elite area. just an observation. BTW i love the high ecto drop rate. cause im thinkin ecto will go back up. today they hit 5.5 again.
